Professional services we offer in Eyelid Surgery
We remove or tighten excess skin and, when needed, adjust muscle and fat on the upper lid. The incision is placed in the natural crease so the scar is well hidden. The result is a lighter, less heavy lid and a more open look. In cases where excess skin narrows the visual field, surgery can also improve vision.
Bags under the eyes are often due to fat pads bulging forward or loose skin. We can remove or reposition the fat and trim excess skin. The approach may be from the outside or from inside the lid, depending on your anatomy. The aim is a smoother, less tired appearance without a hollow look.
Upper and lower eyelid surgery can be done together for a balanced result. We may also combine eyelid surgery with laser resurfacing in the same session for smoother skin and better texture. Your surgeon will recommend the best plan for your eyes and goals.
We examine your upper and lower eyelids, check for brow position and skin quality, and discuss your goals. We explain whether you need upper, lower or both, and whether laser could help. If excess skin is affecting vision, we will note that for the surgical plan.
Incisions are placed in the natural crease (upper lid) or just below the lash line or inside the lid (lower). Excess skin, and when indicated muscle and fat, are removed or repositioned. Stitches are fine and usually removed within a week. The procedure is often done under local anaesthesia with sedation, or under general anaesthesia if combined with other surgery.
Swelling and bruising are normal and usually peak in the first few days, then improve over one to two weeks. We give you aftercare instructions. Most people can return to light activities within a week; full recovery and final appearance take a few weeks.
Eyes look fresher, less heavy and more open. Scars in the crease or at the lash line fade and become barely visible. When vision was affected by excess skin, it is usually improved. Results are long-lasting; natural ageing will continue over time.
Swelling and bruising are normal. Keep the head elevated and use cold compresses as advised. Avoid rubbing the eyes and strenuous activity.
Stitches removed. Swelling and bruising start to go down. You can usually resume light daily activities. Avoid contact lenses and eye makeup as advised.
Most swelling resolves. Eye contour and final result become clearer. You can resume normal activities and makeup when your surgeon allows.
Final result. Fresher, more open eyes. Scars continue to fade. Long-lasting outcome with natural ageing over time.
The eyelid has three layers: skin, muscle and fat. With age, genetics and sun, the skin loses elasticity and the muscle weakens; gravity causes drooping. The fat pads can bulge forward, creating bags. Eyelid surgery addresses these layers to restore a fresher look.
Yes. In advanced cases, excess skin on the upper lid can hang over the lashes and narrow the field of vision. Removing this excess often improves both appearance and vision; we assess this at your consultation.
On the upper lid the incision is in the natural crease, so the scar is hidden when the eye is open. On the lower lid it is either just below the lash line or inside the lid (no visible external scar). They fade significantly over time.
Yes. It is often combined with brow lift, face lift or laser resurfacing for a full rejuvenation of the eye area and face. We can plan the best combination at your consultation.
