The first days prioritise hydration, anti-nausea strategies and gradual texture progression guided by your team.
Many patients start with liquids and soft textures while the stomach adapts; bloating or reflux can occur temporarily.
Anti-secretory medicines or antiemetics may be prescribed short term. Persistent vomiting risks dehydration and needs urgent review.
Long term: focus on protein-forward meals, mindful eating speed and scheduled follow-up visits.
Know warning signs: severe pain, fever, black stools or inability to keep fluids down require emergency care.
